Colour makes a comeback

  • 1

Flouting the architectural formula where colour plays a minor role in design, this holiday home in Waiheke Island takes its cue from Le Corbusian ideas.

He used primary shades of red and green to coat items of built-in furniture, in tiled expanses and on walls, saying it emphasised “the geometry of architecture”.

The Box™ take on this is coloured louvres that bring a rainbow welcome to the front entry of this home – and a splash of playfulness to the bathrooms.
