Ready for the Rollercoaster

Building a house is, for many, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Sometimes, house design and construction companies forget that, for customers, it’s a very big deal. Our goal at Box is to make your home building experience memorable – for all the right reasons! Here’s how we do it:

1. Give you the facts:

It’s a long process where there is a classic pattern of highs and lows. For example, during the design phase clients generally are on a high. When the costings come in, reality hits home. That initial high takes a beating. You may start to think it’s sheer madness spending all that money. This roller-coaster of emotions is perfectly natural. There’s even a clever graph, developed by a wise and empathetic architect – a woman of course – called the Funk Chart that acts as an emotional roadmap of all those predictable ups and downs.

2. Give you the contacts:

Working with good people make the journey so much better. At Box, from go to whoa, you’ll deal with three main people – the sales person, followed by the lead designers and, finally, the project manager. Building a house is a complex process with so many experts required, but we keep the continuity by giving you someone to compliment, or complain to. Just pick up the phone.

3. Give you a community:

All our new clients are invited to a welcome wine and cheese evening – a kind of ‘orientation’ event where you’ll learn what to expect from a process where there can be a couple of twists and turns. You’ll also get to meet fellow homeowners to swap stories with.
